Our Team

Debajyoti Das

Deb Sir’s profile is something you can anyways google up (yes, he is that big a deal!), his visions you can find from various interviews of him that have been taken by leading law web portals! But here goes our attempt to introduce DebD. Debajyoti is from Rourkela, Odisha and did his law school from National Law School, Raipur (Batch of 2010). He also secured an All India Rank 20 in the 2006 NLSIU entrance while at his law school but didn’t join because he didn’t want to drop a year of paying taxes to the government! He has been one of the most successful moot court speakers in his college representing India at various international competitions abroad (Sydney, Hong Kong) after winning the India Rounds. He has been the recipient of the prestigious Microsoft Intellectual Property Scholarship in 2009. After law school Deb Sir was working with Amarchand Mangaldas (arguably the top most law firm in India) specialising in their capital markets and general corporate team before moving on to teaching. At the end of the day though, our guess is that he is most famous for the sheer amount of fun that he brings to his classes apart from his superb expertise in law. You want to go to NLSIU? Why don’t you learn from someone who qualified the exam on how to reach there!

Abhilasha Swarup

Abhilasha Ma’am is perhaps one of the most loved English and Critical Reasoning faculty members ever and naturally leads the team here at LS! She has been teaching English and CR since 1998. She did her schooling from Loreto Convent and continued on to do a business school degree specialising in marketing. She has previously been a Rotary GSE Scholar (2011) to Netherlands. Abhilasha Ma’am has been a prolific writer and has published various articles across publications in verbal ability and critical reasoning. She also continues to be a columnist on verbal ability in Inext since 2014. But the highlights are just highlights, to attend her classes and talk to her outside for doubts gives us the real glimpse into exactly how awesome a teacher she is and how exemplified that word ‘teacher’ is when she is interacting with her students.

Nilabh Krishna

Nilabh is from the lovely nearby state of Bihar. He did most of his schooling from Patna before arriving for his law school at RMLNLU with a broad smile in Lucknow (Because you know - “Muskuraiye aap Lucknow me hain!”). Nilabh is from the batch of 2014. His law school has also been peppered with various paper presentations and a wide range of work experience with Human Rights Commissions and High Courts. Nilabh heads the R&D team and will primarily be working with Prashant and Debajyoti in both the Legal and GK teams.

Prashant Pandey

PP Sir, as he is fondly called, is the Lucknow Boy (Question? Did you read Vinod Mehta’s book or not?). Prashant did most of his schooling from CMS Gomti Nagar. He has been a regular quizzer winning a vast number of regional and national level quizzes. Prashant has done his law school from National Law University, Lucknow (Batch of 2018) and had quite a successful run there as well! He has been invited twice to speak at Cambridge University and has also published various articles in leading law journals of India. He has essentially founded the Student Welfare Committee at his law school. He moved on to pursuing his quizzing love and the love of law in teaching and heads the GK team and assists Debajyoti in the legal team.
